About Me
-
Hi there! My name is Dylan Warnari (he/him). Yes, my parents were hippies in the 70s so I’m named after Bob Dylan. In Farsi, Dylan can mean “many hearted.” My last name is a mix of my previous last name (Ghaffari) and my partner’s maiden name (Warner); hence Warnari. We felt that choosing and creating our own name was a way to honor both sides of our family. Though it was a bit strange at first it has grown on us and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Identity and culture are important to me in therapeutic work so I’ll share some of that here. I’m a heterosexual cis-man, biracial (Persian American), was born in the Denver metro area, and have lived here in Colorado my whole life. I also have an older sister. I’m a father to 2 (G3, B.5) and everyday I learn something new about parenting. We also have a Golden Retriever and a new Pug puppy in our home. I consider myself somewhat Spiritual and grew up attending church (Christian), though religion is not a big part of my identity.

As for my interests, I enjoy spending time with my family first and foremost. Getting outside and doing some gardening is a good reset for me as well as hitting the exercise bike. Video gaming, a good fantasy/sci-fi book, and watching post-apocalyptic shows are some of my other favorite pastimes. In the past I dabbled in snowboarding and golf and was an avid soccer player.
